I Claim

I claim to be Christian
I claim to be true
But behind the whitewash I’m churning stew.

I claim to be feal
I claim to know the light
But I run to the darkness every chance I get.

I claim to be innocent
I claim to follow the way
But deep inside I feel the horns coming out.

I claim to love
I claim to forgive
But the hatred I hide will consume the world.

I claim to have given it all
I claim to have crossed over
But the doubts keep me chained to the lies I left behind.

I claim and I claim
But a still voice tells me
It is not I but He that carries me

Whatcha gonna do about it?

You crib, you moan, you even spam your facebook friends
But when the dust settles down and the blood cools
Whatcha gonna do about it?

You protest, you strike, you even stop eating for a while
But when everyone goes home and the crowd thins out
Whatcha gonna do about it?

You write, you speak, you even get down on your knees
But when the stillness is endless and there seems to be no answer
Whatcha gonna do about it?

You bicker, you argue, you even raise some money for it
But when the event is over and the seasons change
Whatcha gonna do about it?

You harass, you cry, you are even ready to destroy
But when sanity returns and love is proclaimed
Whatcha gonna do about it?

You think, you ponder, you even contemplate asunder
But when the bills come due and life goes on
Whatcha gonna do about it?
